Ten years from now, the real world has been neglected. Shuttered businesses line the streets with signs stating they have moved to the metaverse. Music venues have all relocated to the virtual world where anything is possible. The artists can fly, explode into flames, sing right into your ear…it’s limitless, and it feels incredibly real. But not everyone is a fan.

Madz, a metaverse popstar recently ousted by her label and replaced by her synth, joins an underground tech-averse community of musicians who aim to resist big-tech and bring back human-made music and live shows. With all the venues closed, they will need to gain fans in the metaverse. Will the fans follow them back to the real world and join the resistance? Or has everyone’s ability to enjoy the “real thing” been hijacked by technology?
